The BBC television programme "Pointless" included the following chess-based question ...

100 people were asked to name four chess openings.  Of the six names shown below, four are actual openings - two of which were not mentioned by the public (ie "Pointless") - while two are false.

Therefore, do you know which four are openings - and which two of those were "Pointless" - and which two names are not openings ?

KNIGHT TOUR
A chess knight is on square 1 and must reach square 100 by going to every other square on the board in numerical order only once.

Some numbers oare already shown while the knight must move as in a normal chess game   (ie 2 forward / 1 side  or  1 forward / 2 side).

The 3Cs' website set a puzzle for our young players to occupy themselves during the 2023 Christmas period.

They were asked to place 8 queens on a chess board so that none of them were threatened by any other.
